The upcoming presidential election has put a lot of focus on the state of the U.S. economy, save for one glaring omission: the cost of long-term care.

When I talk to seniors, many seem less afraid of dying than of living so long that they’ll eventually need help with basic activities, such as preparing meals, bathing and dressing. They worry they won’t have enough money to cover this expense.
