Justine McDaniel is a general assignment reporter who joined The Washington Post in 2022. Previously, she spent eight years as a news reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer, where she covered the coronavirus pandemic, breaking news, and local and state topics. She was a 2014 reporting fellow for News21, part of the Carnegie-Knight Initiative on the Future of Journalism Education. She previously reported in Washington for the University of Maryland and as a McClatchy intern while getting her master's degree.
